Hello, it’s me, Donavan! Although Mr. Patience might be a better name for me since I have been described as the doggy with the most patience ever! I’m a pretty laid-back guy. Folks might say I have a friendly, “Southern” approach to life and other pets as I greet them nicely and always with a big, fluffy wagging tail! I smile a lot and folks love hugging me. I’m about five years old, and if I had to guess, I would say I have a parent who was part Collie, and maybe a Hound or two and perhaps even a Saint Bernard in my lineage as well. I’m a good match for a family currently stocked with other dogs and kids, and likely cats as well.

2. Abigail

For most who come to CFC life instantly becomes infinitely better, but not so for me. From the moment that I was torn from what I thought was my secure and loving forever home fear took over and self-confidence deserted me. You wouldn’t necessarily recognize this in me, as I don’t act cowed and fearful, but my fragile emotional state surfaces in the way that I interact with all the other cats in our room and with people. To be honest to this point I haven’t been at my best in that regard, tending to hiss and swat whenever another cat approaches and not greeting well meaning people in a kindly fashion. My world turned upside down when I lost my home and it’s going to take abundant patience and love to put me at ease again and return me to the loving “tabico” girl that I have the potential to once again be. Folks say that I am beautiful with my tabby markings and orange colors and as such there is naturally a bit of the diva in me. My favorite things are fuzzy mice and yummy treats. My volunteer friends think that once in a home where I can be queen without any feline competition, the true Abigail will emerge and I can be a delightful companion. Could you be the one to give me that chance?

3. Elsa

Hi, this is Elsa here! I am back at CFC after living in a loving home for nearly three years. I am very friendly and loving. No matter where I go or what I’m doing, my tail is wagging a mile a minute. It was even wagging when all the other dogs at CFC were barking at the “new kid in town.” I like to have snuggle time, and I love to go for walks. I brought my own special blanket with me from my former home, and I hope I can bring it to a new home very soon. I hope you’ll come out to meet me and look into these big blue eyes.

4. Grant

Yep, I’ve heard the F bomb directed at me. That’s right, “Fat!” Well, I’ll admit to sturdy or even hefty, but “Fat?” Really! There are those who think that my size makes me even more huggable. It’s true that I could stand to lose a pound or 3, but basically I’m just a large framed strapping boy who wouldn’t be nearly as handsome if I was a thin mint. I could throw my weight around, but I’m a peaceful fellow who has no issues with fellow felines. My heart is kind and I delight in receiving affection from people. Talk about filling up a lap, I can and will do that for sure. With my soft gray Siamese colored fur and very gentle ways I seem to attract my share of attention, which is wonderful since I revel in petting sessions and being brushed. I’ve been called an all around (hope that’s not a dig at my girth) wonderful boy. One look at this cherubic face and folks tend to fall in love. Even if your home and heart have just a small missing piece I’m confident that I can SQUEEZZZE right in there. Please come and spend some time with possibly your new best friend.

5. Hannah

Be careful when you’re around me, you might get kissed to death! I can’t wait to give body-wags and face-licks to everyone I meet. When I first arrived here at CFC I was scared and unsure of myself. I wanted to love everyone, but sometimes I got scared. Now that I have my confidence back, I’m a bouncy and happy girl whose beautiful outside matches her inside.

My fur is actually plusher than it appears in the photos. I’m squeezable, soft and ready for love! I’m good around other dogs, although it’s still a mystery how I feel about cats and kids. It would make me so happy if you’d come to visit me. It’s like visiting with a live Teddy Bear!

6. Sal

With my Norwegian Forest cat good looks I’m more Oslo than Bronx. I’m told that I have such a handsome countenance and with one look you may just think Henrik, Bjorn, or Liam rather than Sal. I admit that it takes some serious adjustment to get used to this communal living thing but I’ve made real strides. Still if I had my druthers I would love a home where I could fly solo and be showered with ALL the attention and love. In the right home though I think I could coexist peacefully with other creatures. Keeping the jealous side of my personality in check sometimes can be a challenge but the bottom line is that I’m a loving guy who much enjoys being stroked and given chinny scrunches. I can’t say at this point that I’m what you would call a lap cat, but I’m evolving and anything is possible. I have a playful side too and I love me some toys. My photographer says that I am one of the most photogenic cats ever, and how can I argue with that? In short I’m told that I’m one engaging boy. I hope that you will stop by for a chat and perhaps to interview me for a permanent position as your resident love bug.

7. Owen

I’m at my best surrounded by toys and more toys and yes, a human by my side. Howdy, folks. It’s me Owen. I love to play. I love my purple stuffy!!! I also like to chase tennis balls. Folks have commented on how I can seemingly self entertain for long periods of time if given just a few simple toys. I will carry and throw toys around and then roll on my back in great delight. Still can’t believe the good fortune I have come upon in winding up at CFC! I’ve never met a stranger and I’m told I’m graced with a super sweet disposition typical of many hounds. I’m a good match should you already have a dog in stock but cats look just like small little toys to me so they are not a good choice for me! LOL. I’ll admit, I get very excited when I see someone heading toward my pen with a leash. I get so excited it’s hard for me to focus on what I’m told. But I sure am enthusiastic with my affection! I’m not so happy when it’s time to go back inside the pen, though. Sometimes I have to be lured inside because I am so afraid I’ll be left alone again. I would love to be adopted by someone who could be patient with me until I gain some confidence and feel secure once more.

8. Simon

I’m a buff ball of soft. I had a rough start in life but that didn’t lessen my inherent gentleness and kindly nature. When you hold me I sometimes will reach up and pat your nose with a soft paw- no claws extended. I’m a playing machine much of the time but when I tire myself out I really enjoy a good cuddle. Having a stocky and rather short legged build, people say I look like the cutest wind up toy. My favorite playmate here is Sebastian. He’s frisky and frolicsome like me, and since we came from similar harsh circumstances, we have a natural bond and thoroughly enjoy romping with one another. I’d really love a home of my very own, especially if there are other cats there to play with. People say that my precious face and steady purr are irresistible. I hope you’ll feel the same way when you visit me.

9. Jean

Jean is a snuggly girl who loves being with her people. Once upon a time, she had a family and a home and she was very loved. When her elderly caretakers started having health issues and became wheelchair bound, well, they did the right thing for Jean and wished for her to have a new home where she could share her youthful outlook on life and run and play and have fun! Today, Jean is a happy, vibrant lady who loves people. Jean loves rolling over on her back in the hopes of eking out some belly rubs from her new human friends and maybe catching some sunny rays to warm her up. Inside, she’s perfectly content to simply stretch out on the sofa but she also loves acting as your shadow as she follows you around to get in on the all the action. Already crate and house trained, Jean is a lovely leash walker and is happy to trot back into her house when summoned especially if it involves a fresh Benebone or other tasty snack! With the temps dropping, Jean will tell you she is the BEST doggy to curl up into YOUR bed to keep your feet or legs warm. She’s a wonderful “draper” in this manner and is just darn appealing! Jean is a little “Love Machine” and we think she’s just divine!

Living life on the fringe! I just know my life has a taken a huge turn and a very good one at that. Recently pulled from a high kill shelter, folks are surmising that I grew up with limited or no stability and as a very young girl did not get much guidance from my person. As a result, some might say I am a bit of a “project dog” in that I will need someone who is pet savvy and very calm and patient. I can tell you that I’m smart as a whip and I really want to reach out and leave the sidelines and say “hi.” Perhaps a bit shy when we first meet, lots of folks will focus on my looks and say I have THE most expressive face and incredibly awesome ears. I also hear my jacket reminds folks of a squirrel!! I’m really not the type of girl to kiss on a first date but promise that once you let me give you the once over, I’ll gladly let you take me out for a stroll. If you have other dogs in your home, that too would be mighty fine as I can learn so much from them and they give me such comfort. I’m really ready to leave the “fringe” lifestyle and so hope that soon I can find my new person.

11. Sally

Sally is a soft and soothing name for a girl who is the essence of soft and soothing. In fact, people say that I’m one of those rare souls whose primary purpose in life seemingly is to share love with people. My person was taken away from me and I lost the home where I lived in harmony with all beings including dogs. In the area that I came from almost always there is no place for a cat who is FIV+, but the people at the S.C. shelter said I was just too sweet to be put down and blessedly CFC had a place for me. The lady there said about me, “I absolutely love this cat! I have never met a cat that is as loving as she is. She would not stop rubbing all over me and giving me little kisses. I’m hoping that there is a safe spot for her somewhere because she is just too sweet to give up on.” I’ve never met a lap that I didn’t adore and I drape myself over them, and their owners’ hearts, where I recline purring softly in ecstasy over being caressed. Indeed, I have become quite the expert at flopping at peoples’ feet to encourage them to make said laps available. When it comes to humans, I’m a petite 7 pound magnet who will attach myself to your heart and soul. Please allow me to press against you and you’ll see what I’m talking about. My heartfelt wish is for a forever home where I can lavish love and kindness on my family. One visit with me and I think you’ll be convinced that I’m the one for you.
